So which of these in 2024 has the best dollar value plus good ai. I mistakenly bought an 8mp tioc dahua will small sensor and ipcams forum taught me a lot like get dahua 5442 S3. I'll use the tioc for the next year or two in the main vulnerability point. And as a learning device for home assistant plus security in general. I do like the active deterrence but apparently ai in cam and CPU is better in 5442 and much better low light.

Gonna take me a while to save for my full servers, NCR, Nas, cameras setup but I'm limited income disability so can't go overboard. I also hope it all fits a 9ru rack. Currently 2 optiplex, slzb06 X 2 for dual network, one is shed. Old 24port hub.

Eventually I'd like 2.5gbe plus if needed NVR or 16poet gigabit Poe for 8-10 cams and I really like ai plus automation.

Seeing as the 5442 lacks some features can I run 12v speakers, maybe esphome or a Poe version to certain areas for active deterrence plus I guess mqtt messaging to alert me.

Which of those title options on NVR is best.

And I'm hoping for a low power usage rack mount case mini itx Nas plus NVR storage if needed or just not a dang tower that won't fit the rack. 2.5gbe 24 would be a dream but I could live with gigabit 24port plus 8port 2.5gbe as I think I don't have that many devices that need 2.5gbe.

I'm just very curious on the ai capabilities of blue iris vs frigate with coral tpu. I get mixed messages online and can't afford to just buy a 3060 new machine just to test n find out it wasn't needed when a coral tpu could have saved me 600. I've only got a 1070ti on my gaming PC and not sure if that's got the latest ai stuff. Not sure how a proxmox vm windows will run either as I'm not keen on monitor, kbd, mouse as I like to be in my recliner relaxing with laptop remoting in the Linux stuff. Yeah I'm lazy but also low energy. The rack was probably gonna be mounted high. I don't need some silly pull out rack mount monitor hopefully with keyboard you see in movies. I want this system to be hands free where possible.

I can slowly save for stuff but I also don't want a full time job managing everything. There's a cool dahua feature acupick which I'm not sure is easily or affordably available with an alternative via frigate or blue iris. Afaik blue iris needs a decent GPU. Stuff in Australia is expensive. I drool at seeing the prices of network gear etc in America.

Also quick question. Instead of manually updating via command line on each VM,lxc is there something that crosses across all or can be installed for batch upgrades. I'm slowly learning sysops or whatever it's called but never got to Goto University and had major health issues. But I've been learning fast when health allows. Just Linux is so intimidating. My memory hasn't been the best so I'm documenting as I go.

I had a win. After long saving a budget home theatre integrated to home assistant with ZigBee downlights which are amazing compared to traditional, sadly we get vidaa Hisense on u8hau vs Google tv in America. Got it in a big sale. Denon entry level x1700h 5.1.2 with heos and home assistant add-on music assistant is awesome.

Thanks n to the developers you've helped my life.

Before anybody spends an hour trying to respond to this, it is a Home Assistant Reddit post and I believe it has been copied here by somebody else in Vietnam to waste our time. What do you think ?
