Push Updates To Phone No Longer Working

Last December I asked a question about not paying for extended support since I don't need updates or other support, and was told Blue Iris would continue to function without it. As the Subject reads, I am now receiving server errors and no outgoing alerts are working. I see the following error messages in the log among others:

Post: save error 7.5
Events: subscription 00002efd
PTZ: 10220 /cgi-bin/CGIProxy.fcgi
SMS: SMTP Connect failed (1)

I am able to connect to the camera server and phone just fine, and configure everything as usual, but get no notifications on my phone. It seems as though this is related to the lack of extended subscription?

I think this is the same issue being discussed in other threads. It is not a BI5 change, but it will force BI5 to be updated to make it work again.

Thank you for the reply. Do you mean updated as in pay for the extended support?

Please note that I am a volunteer here and cannot tell you Blue Iris official policy. If you need to know the official company line please contact Support.

As I see it, BI5 without a support plan would normally carry on working until a Windows update inevitably broke it possibly years down the line. Blue Iris have no way to prevent MicroSoft etc making changes, and so the failure will occur unless you are running BI5 in a container (Or get a support plan to update the software). Here we have an external change. It broke things that even a container cannot protect you from. Blue Iris will update their software to work around the external changes, but they will not be able to update the older versions of BI5 too. That means to get the update you would need an active support plan.

The other option seems to be to replace the Push function with Pushover.

Thank you for the reply. It's not a Windows update in my case, I do not allow updates on my camera server. My phone is also quite old and way past receiving updates. Could you please explain the Pushover function, where do I find that?

Pushover is a third party application that many people use, but there is a small charge. There are recent threads explaining how to use it.

I don't mind paying for the app., it looks a little difficult to configure, though. Do I really need to know Python in order to use it? I still can't understand why push notifications stopped working. I can receive e-mails okay but get server error 12150, when testing push notifications.

I really appreciate your help. Should I post this somewhere else?

No you don't ! Pogo did a post about it in the last week or two, and Sardon managed to get it going with a BI5 image to a smartwatch. Have a look for those posts.

Will do, thank you.

Is there an error code list anywhere?
