Does anyone know exactly what file I have to put in the Norton firewall exception to be able to reach it remotely?
I've tried both BlueIrisAdmin.exe and BlueIris.exe. The problem is that I can't reach Blue Iris to enable and disable my away operation and I have to do it manually.
Second question.... If I do get the correct exception for Norton, does that mean that those internet scanners will start hitting and trying to log in again?
Getting through Norton Firewall

like, how are you connecting? From the Internet? VPN? Port forwarding?
Perhaps you could describe what you are trying to do in more detail.
No matter what you do, they are scanning, looking for open ports already.

Re: Getting through Norton Firewall
If you do port forwarding (open a hole in the firewall), be prepared to get scanned 24 hrs a day!
I would not do this as the risk of getting hacked is only dependant on the password you used and how secure the BI web server is!

Re: Getting through Norton Firewall
Reaching it remotely I’m referring to viewing it on my iPhone. With the firewall on, I get a blank white screen. If I turn the firewall off, I can see the images and make changes such as changing modes. Normal mode monitors and records on a schedule, an away mode monitors 24/7.
Re: Getting through Norton Firewall
Perhaps if you answer the questions about how you are connecting, saying remotely does not tells us what we need to know to help! Are you at how connecting over your Wi-Fi, or over mobile data on your phone! Are you using the BI app or using the UI3 web page.
Re: Getting through Norton Firewall
I’m trying to connect via IP address to BI5 from my iPhone. When outside of my WIFI, with Norton firewall turned ON, all I get is a blank white page. If I turn Norton firewall OFF, I can hit BI. All of this is me trying to hit it outside of my WIFI.
I’ve been using my Amcrest software to view remotely since I can’t get in with BI5 remotely. I had to turn the firewall on in Norton because scanners were pounding me every day.

Re: Getting through Norton Firewall
Are you using the BI mobile app?
Also these days Defender the built in AV is good enough to not warrant paying extra for 3rd party AV so if you are paying for Norton you might consider kicking it into touch?

Re: Getting through Norton Firewall
Just a WAG, but I would guess you have to tell the firewall to open the port to BI UI3. I would much prefer to use a VPN or one of the services that connect via port 80. I use VPN server in my router/firewall. Seems like this is more of a Norton Firewall question versus BI.
Re: Getting through Norton Firewall
Your router must already be set up correctly for port forwarding if this works with the Norton firewall off. Maybe check which port it is using. You should be able to see this in BI5 WAN settings and in the router "port forwarding" settings. You will have to open that port in the Norton firewall.
Unfortunately that does mean external port scanners will be visible again. You do need a VPN or multiple other ways like ZeroTier to prevent that.
