Terrible quality recording, even when using direct to disk

Anybody have any idea what could cause this? Camera is amcrest 4k 8mp. Live feed looks great. Super heavy compression artifacts upon playback.

What are your cam settings, that will dictate the stream that BI receives.

And are they artifacts, or is that a lower resolution sub-stream ?
