I have a camera that did not generate an alert for an event that was a clear event. I have the cameras recordings continuous sub + alerts. I used the timeline view and went back and reviewed the footage with the AI tuner enabled and it was showing >90% person and yet no alert. The log simply showed alert image not created. No idea what that means.
Anyone seen that before?
AI tuner sees object but no alert
Re: AI tuner sees object but no alert
I suggest enabling DAT files on that camera, as it will show you what the actual decision making process is.
IFIRC one of the early issues with "Testing and tuning/ Analyze with AI" is that it used ALL models, not only the specific model you may be using. The DAT file will show you the model that was used.
You have to turn OFF DAT files when you are done, as BI5 doesn't delete them. They will fill up your folders if you don't do this. Yes, I did find out the hard way

Re: AI tuner sees object but no alert
I have .dat files turned on for that camera but it didn't generate one.
Re: AI tuner sees object but no alert
so no matter what I do I cannot get this camera to 'detect" anything. I've used the bi_dat_tools.ps1' file I found. The tuner AI overlay clearly shows it should fire an alert but it's not doing it. I've tried with onvif events turned on and turned off. I'm really stumped why it simply refuses to see anything.
Re: AI tuner sees object but no alert
ok. turned off onvif events and it seems to be working now. We'll see how it goes
Re: AI tuner sees object but no alert
Could you share screenshots of the Trigger and Alert tabs for that camera?

Re: AI tuner sees object but no alert
I'd sill love to know if I'm doing something wrong. the onvif events should work. They were working with scrypted.
Re: AI tuner sees object but no alert
I don't see anything glaring here. My guess is that since the alerts are confirmed by CPAI, they get cancelled. Looking at the DAT files is the next step. Since you said that DAT files were not generated, it makes me think that you are not seeing cancelled alerts in the Alerts list, since DAT files will be generated any time the camera is triggered (so if you see an orange frame around that camera, there should be a DAT file for that time).
Try right-clicking on the Clips panel, select View -> Cancelled Alerts. Then Ctrl-doubleclick on a cancelled alerts from that camera. It may take two tries (I had times when the AI viewer would pop up on the first try, but not open the event and AI analysis).
Also, you have "New triggers only" turned on. You also said that turning off ONVIF events fixed it. That makes me wonder, if the ONVIF event from the camera arrived first but was too early, and that AI detection didn't detect anything at that time, and a subsequent Motion event from BI didn't re-trigger the alert analysis. That would totally cause what you are describing. To try to fix that, look at the ONVIF event and whether the object causing the trigger is detectable by the AI. Then you might try to add 3-4 frames to the AI analysis, delaying them by 750 ms or so. Or, turn on new triggers and re-triggers, and see if that helps.
