Clip age

Good afternoon,
I'm wondering if there is a way to have 2 different 'clip age' settings?
We are required by the city to keep 24/7 outdoor footage for 31 days.
However, we'd prefer to only keep interior camera footage for only 7 days.
We group our cameras as "Indoor" and "Outdoor."
Would it screw up the database if I just wrote a Powershell script to just delete the files we didn't want?

Coincidentally this was one of my feature requests I recently mailed to support. If I didn't misunderstand the reply, maybe this will be added to version 6.0.
Till now I never ventured into deleting .bvr files, but when I do now for one camera, the clip keeps showing up in the clip list (also after restart) and the number of items and free disk space stays unchanged. So, this isn't the way to go I guess.

Did you try clicking on the entry for the deleted file in the clip list, does it play the clip?
Did you rebuild the DB after you deleted the files, you would have to do that to see any changes in the clip list?

No, it showed a pop-up 'Sorry, there is no file to open' (but that's rather obvious...)
Did you rebuild the DB after you deleted the files, you would have to do that to see any changes in the clip list?
That was indeed the thing to do. After that, the clip is gone and disk space is increased.

Just a thought, but can't you already do this by making the indoor and outdoor cameras save into different folders with different retention settings ? Presently all of my cameras record to the "New" folder, but each camera could be diverted into other folders that I have already set up.
So for example, go to General settings/ Storage and:
1. Rename "Aux 5" to "Outdoor".
2. Create the outdoor folder on the required drive.
2. Set "Outdoor" folder "Limit clip age" to 31 days then Delete.

3. Rename "Aux 6" to "Indoor".
4. Create the indoor folder on the required drive.
5. Set "Indoor" folder "Limit clip age" to 7 days then delete.
6. Go to each outdoor camera settings/ Record and change folder from "New" to "Outdoor".

Have I finally lost the plot, or will that do it ? And no database issues
