Blue line on timeline even if no video

Hi, i have ip cameras on blue iris, recording is continuous, the problem is that even when camera is down for some reason- i see blue timeline like it was active. Of course if i click on that period- no video is playing. But by watching on timeline you can not see that there was a gap in the video. Is there any specific settings in camera recording that will allow to see clear when no video saved? I see “record No signal and Inactive frames” unchecked now. Maybe i miss something but how to see the real things on timeline?

My first suggestion is to lose the blue. BI5 camera settings/ General, and alter the "Color" to make each camera individual. That looks like this for me:

- timeline.png (69.37 KiB) Viewed 3122 times
Now you can see all of your cameras. Are they all doing the same thing ?

Since all your cameras have the default blue color, even if one camera is not recording it will still show the blue timeline bar when more than 1 camera is selected. You would need to select each camera to see it's blue timeline bar to see any gaps. This is what your experiencing.
The solution is what TimG suggested. Change each cameras color for a colorful Timeline, which would show the gaps for each camera. Even a slight change will produce a separate timeline bar.
