Blue Iris

Hello,
I have a truck scale with an RS232 output that provides live weight data in text format. I'm trying to add a visual overlay of this output in BlueIris. I suspect a macro might help, but when I try to use "show overlays" with a .txt file, the text data doesn't display on the camera. It shows static text in the "edit overlays" menu, but it never appears in the live view or recordings. I do have the date and time overlays enabled, and those show up fine.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

How are you adding a text file to the Overlay, without using a Macro?

1. Assign the filename to a macro using the format, say macro 9: file://C:\path\filename.txt
2. Add the macro to the over using %9

The filename must be a static non changing name.
Also, if there is an image output option, you can simply add the image to the overlay, and it will refresh automatically when the new image refreshes.
