Upgraded from 3 to 5 Demo

I upgraded my functional Version 3 install to a 5 demo where the webserver cannot be accessed. I wanted to make sure that I could run the newer version before buying the license. Install went great and all the cameras are there and streaming, the only thing not working is the webserver. Well and it's also tasking the CPU at 100%.
All the settings look correct, any ideas?

Hi,

Are you using an address for an old BI3 webserver, or the new UI3 page for BI5 ? I find UI3 at this address on my LAN:

192.168.2.2:81/login.htm?page=%2F

The high cpu load may be due to you not being able to use direct to disk recording with the demo software.

Were you running Blue Iris 3 as a 32-bit application or service? I suspect when you installed Blue Iris 5 on a 64-bit PC, it did not change the web server path from C:\Program Files (x86)\Blue Iris 3\www to C:\Program Files\Blue Iris 5\www. Open Blue Iris 5 app, then Settings -> Web Server tab and check the web server path. If it doesn't reflect C:\Program Files\Blue Iris 5\www then change it so it reflects this.

TimG is correct about the Direct-to-Disk feature in Blue Iris being disabled in the Demo mode of Blue Iris, which may be why your CPU utilization is maxed out at 100%. While Direct-to-disk can reduce CPU load because it does not re-encode each video stream from every IP camera, you won't be able to evaluate this feature in the demo.

I can't offer much advice without knowing your PC hardware like what CPU model (Intel i7-4770) your PC has installed and how many IP cameras are connected to Blue Iris and what resolution, frame rate and bit rate they are running at. If your PC's CPU supports Intel Quick Sync or you have a NVidia card that supports NVDEC, you can enable hardware acceleration to lessen the load on the CPU. Also, don't run your camera's frame rate at 30fps. I would reduce each cameras frame rate to 10-15fps.

You can also reduce CPU load by enabling "Limit live preview rate" and setting it to a value between 5-10 fps in Settings -> Cameras. This does not affect recordings.
