blank camera screen when using NAS

I have an issue that when I have a NAS setup and I'm running blue iris as a service, the camera screens don't seem to show up when running the console.
I have a synology NAS and I record directly to the NAS. I can view the cameras from the app, the video is recording fine, and I can scrub and see the content when playing back clips.
The only thing I can't seem to do is see the cameras when I'm using the console. It appears as a black screen. If I right click in the area of the black screen, the option to change camera settings show up, and I can change each camera settings by right clicking on a different section of the console.
Does anyone have any good ideas as to why the console cameras appears blank? See the photo for reference
